A Jam Less Ordinary!
Thinking outside the box in terms of the type of live act you want to play at your wedding can be hugely rewarding. Here's why, alongside some of our favourite unconventional Wedding Jam artists.
There is, of course, nothing at all wrong with opting for a more typical soundtrack for your big day. After all, soul, disco, indie, pop - you name it - are all hugely popular choices at weddings for a reason, and we're proud to have a veritable goldmine of all that stuff on our roster. But there are plenty of couples out there who strive for something a little different, and that's an equally valid and rewarding route to take.
Whether it's for garden party / daytime sounds, or an evening do tear-up, a more unconventional musical choice can help to create particularly unforgettable memories for everyone in attendance.
So where do you even start looking for such a thing? Right here of course!
Azuli
With Notting Hill Carnival experience, Azuli's super-fresh steelpan sound is a perfect pick for positive and uplifting daytime vibes. With an authentic sound soaked in sun, Azuli fuses the instrument's traditional sound with modern flavours, making for something deliciously unique. Performing tunes from an eclectic range of artists and genres - think Musical Youth, Tame Impala, Wizkid, Bill Withers, Amy Winehouse, Dua Lipa, Bob Marley and loads more - Azuli is a nailed-on triumph.
The Electric Harpist
The ethereal beauty of the harp is unmatched; an enchanting and otherworldly instrument that brings a very particular kind of magic to any wedding. The Electric Harpist takes all of that divine grace and sprinkles it with a handful of modern touches to serve up something wonderfully unique. Using loops, FX pedals and gentle beats, she makes music that’s not only beautiful and serene, but can also be upbeat, punchy and a whole lot of fun. A fine, fine choice!
Candela
Able to light up both daytime and evening sessions, adapting their sets accordingly, Candela's Latin sound and energy are dripping in sunshine. Expertly adept at flitting between styles such as Latino, Afrobeat, Salsa, Samba, Calypso, reggae and more, Candela's genre-hopping is reflected in their repertoire - covering the likes of Chaka Khan, Daft Punk, Gorillaz, Anderson Paak, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, U2 and a raft of other much-loved artists, all performed in the aforementioned range of sounds. And, of course, they also deliver sublime Cuban, Latin and Afrobeat tunes, by way of the likes of Buena Vista Social Club, Sergio Mendes, Fela Kuti and others. Muy bueno!
Elijah
The violin is a classic and highly dependable instrument of choice for a wedding. What marks Elijah apart is his live looping and effect pedal wizardry - expanding the violin's capabilities and range into extraordinary realms. Ideal for the ceremony itself or the daytime celebrations - or both! - Elijah's versatility and eclectic performance is guaranteed to wow everyone present. Check out the reviews on his profile!
DJ Yoda
By any measure, there is nothing ordinary about DJ Yoda. One of Wedding Jam's headline acts, Yoda is a world class and world renowned DJ and producer, and a favourite of none other than Dr Dre. Booking Yoda for your wedding is a serious statement of intent - a master of his craft, with an encyclopaedic knowledge of not just music of all kinds but also how to work a room and fill a floor.
