Wedding Jam Jazz
Jazz is an exceptional choice for any wedding due to its timeless sense of class, cross-generational appeal, and its ability to seamlessly bridge the gap between sophisticated background music and high-energy dancefloor potential. Its inherent flexibility allows it to adapt to the changing energy of your wedding day, from ceremony to drinks reception and even through to the evening shenanigans.
Jazz brings a unique warmth, and so it's no surprise its popularity at weddings has seldom waned over the years - indeed there's been a resurgence recently, arguably due to the likes of Laufey, Ezra Collective and others bringing jazz to younger audiences, blending traditional jazz flavours with a more modern aesthetic.
At Wedding Jam we are particularly proud of our jazz roster, with a collection of acts straddling different strains of jazz, from trad and golden era jazz and swing, to more vibey modern takes on the genre, alongside collectives performing pop classics in a jazz style. Its versatility is one of its strengths, and our growing roster of jazz collectives reflects the depth and flexibility of a genre that is never going away.
We've recently recruited a bunch of seriously good jazzers - check out these chops!
These Midlands-based cats do not mess about, and will take you back to back to the golden age of modern jazz, serving up timeless classics from titans such as Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane and a heap more. Close your eyes and you could be in an NYC jazz club in 1957.
London's Sunrise Ensemble are a fabulous trio who offer the option adding a vocalist - male or female! With a repertoire that blends jazz standards and classics with pop hits done in that style, Sunrise Ensemble are a top tier booking for those garden parties and drinks receptions.
Behind the Beat's easy vibe is a delight, and they feel unhurried even when they step up the tempo. These dudes can perform as a duo, trio, quartet or quintet, with or without vocals, and will tailor their setlist(s) around your ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening party - the full shebang.
The wonderful A-Train Quartet specialise in the timeless sound of golden era jazz and the Great American Songbook, inspired by luminaries such as Chet Baker, Louis Armstrong and Nat King Cole. You can book them as an intimate duo, or a fuller ensemble up to a full seven-piece band, and this flexibility means they can adapt their sound to everything from chilled background sets to uptempo evening performances.
Liverpool's Crazy in Swing bring something a little different to the jazz table - a set full of pop bangers done in their vintage swing style. Expect to hear the likes of Bruno Mars, Deee-Lite, Chic and Michael Jackson all entirely reimagined.
North West keys and sax duo Groove Curse evoke the likes of Tom Misch and Jordan Rakei, bringing modern jazz-infused soulful vibes that are ideal for daytime drinks. Super-chilled and vibey as hell, Groove Curse are hugely popular with good reason, able to straddle the generations and offer something for everyone.
And it doesn't end there. We've got stacks more good stuff where jazz is concerned - check out our roster of jazz bands as well as our collection of jazz solo singers and duos!
