Rob & Co

Pop / Jazz & Swing / Duo

  • London (willing to travel)

Biography

Singer/guitarist Rob is accompanied by a rotating cast of musicians including piano/keyboards, bass and strings. With some musical partnerships lasting nearly 20 years, together Rob and his band of superb instrumentalists bring a stack of collective experience and genuine musical chemistry to audiences all over London, the UK and beyond.

These dudes boast one of the most wildly eclectic repertoires on the Wedding Jam roster, including songs from the likes of The Smiths, Outkast, Amy Winehouse, Lou Reed, Prince, Radiohead, Etta James, Robbie Williams, Nick Drake, Billy Ocean, plus golden age jazz, trad folk songs and an absolute heap more. You name it, they almost certainly do it - check out their enormous repertoire below!

The idea originally grew out of a duo formed between new musical acquaintances Rob and his pal Oli - meeting at a jam session, initially bonding over their love for old-time blues and jazz, they began to branch out and explore songs of all different eras and genres. Beginning their gigging life as a jazz duo (vocals/piano), they then added the guitar to give a rootsy rhythmic drive to the sound. Both sophisticated instrumentalists in their own right, their natural chemistry creates a unique and enthralling dynamic which incorporates the best of many musical modes and textures. Drawn to anything with soul, Rob & Co can rock, swing or groove, with improvisation at the core of everything they do.

This core dynamic/ethos has been continued and developed alongside an ever-expanding group of different musicians over the years, and Rob and his fabulous squad of musicians can be booked as a duo, trio, or a full band - the choice is yours!

Reviews

What an incredible evening! All of our interactions prior to the evening were prompt, very helpful and worked with us to plan the evening. On the night, they were really great. Reading the room and adjusting the music to suit. When people just wanted to chat after the meal, the music and vocals were there and complementing. Once we had people on the dancefloor it stepped up. A really great experience, would book again without a shadow of a doubt and would highly recommend. Thanks for a great night!
